The M HKA collection is constantly evolving. The changing collection presentations highlight different works on each occasion. Open to visitors for free in the collection wing on the ground floor. This approach allows the museum to respond to current events, showcase recent acquisitions, and stay abreast of developments in contemporary art.

In Situ

Through the In Situ programme, M HKA invests in the contemporary art scene. Artists from around the world are invited to create new work in the Point Room, the museum’s most atypical space. Experimentation takes centre stage: here, artists can push the boundaries of their practice with the support of the museum. In Situ highlights the pioneering spirit of both emerging and established talents.

Archive

The M HKA exhibits its extensive visual art archives through rotating archival presentations. These presentations are not only crucial for the preservation and accessibility of estates but also open up opportunities for new research.

Exhibition

M HKA broadens your view. Major exhibitions, both solo and group shows, rotate in February, June, and October. In each instance, they are preceded by meticulous research conducted by the museum. They feature significant artists or address socially relevant themes, always approached from a fresh perspective. Reflection and conversation are key.

Inbox

The fifth floor of M HKA is dedicated to visionary thinkers and creators. INBOX is a vibrant space that highlights the pulse of contemporary art. Every last Thursday of the month features a new event, ranging from installations to performances or discussions—all with free admission.

Superhost

Every year, M HKA extends an invitation to an artist or collective to serve as Superhost. The Superhost is both guest and host. An excellent opportunity to foster deeper engagement among artists, the museum, and its audience. The outcome varies each year, ranging from installations and exhibitions to performances, lectures, workshops, or publications.

Extra muros

M HKA also exhibits outside the museum walls. The museum also regularly showcases its collections in various specific contexts. Each display is grounded in rigorous research and woven into a compelling narrative.
