Is M HKA open?
Is M HKAFE, the museum café, open?
You are welcome at the museum café during the museum’s opening hours, from Tuesday to Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Reservations are not possible. In good weather, you can also visit the rooftop terrace. In the museum café, you will find a mural by Keith Haring, and on the rooftop terrace you can drift away in Skyspace by James Turrell. How can I avoid busy times?
The museum is often busier between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. If you prefer a quieter visit, it is best to come before 2 p.m.
Can I bring my coat or bag into the museum?
Coats, large bags and umbrellas are not allowed in the museum. You can store them in the free lockers at the entrance. A handbag may be taken inside.
Can I use a cloakroom or locker?
Yes. There is an unattended cloakroom for groups and free lockers at the entrance. The lockers work with €1 coins. You can also ask for a token at the desk.
How long may I stay in the museum?
You may stay as long as you like during opening hours.

Which exhibitions are on view?
Where can I see the permanent collection?
The M HKA collection is constantly evolving. Rotating collection displays highlight different works each time. You can visit the collection wing on the ground floor free of charge.
How is M HKA organised?
How is the museum laid out?
On the ground floor you will find the entrance hall with the reading room, information desk and museum shop. To the left of the reading room is the collection wing. To the right behind the information desk is the In Situ space. On the 1st floor you will find the Salon. On the 2nd floor M HKA presents major exhibitions. On the 4th floor you will find M HKAFE. On the 5th floor we open a new INBOX presentation every month, during M HKA Late. On the 6th floor you will find the Superhost space.
Is there an audio guide?
No. There is no audio guide, because our presentations change every four months.
Does M HKA also show films?
Tickets
Do I need to buy tickets in advance, or can I buy them at the museum?
You can buy tickets at the museum desk. It is currently not possible to buy tickets online in advance.
Are you coming with a group or a class? Let us know via reservatie@muhka.be. That way we can ensure a smooth welcome.
Can I visit the museum shop without a ticket?
Yes. You can visit the museum shop without a ticket during the museum’s opening hours.
Can I visit the museum café without a ticket?
Yes. You can visit the museum café without a ticket during the museum’s opening hours.
Can I visit the collection wing without a ticket?
Yes. The collection wing on the ground floor is free to visit, as are INBOX, Superhost and the reading room.
Is the Museumpas valid at M HKA?
Yes. With the Museumpas, you can visit the museum free of charge. Learn more about reductions and discount cards
Can I visit M HKA for free with a student pass?
Yes. With the M HKA Student Pass, you can visit the museum as often as you like for one academic year, free of charge.
I am a member of the press. Can I enter with my press card?
Yes. Members of the press receive free admission on presentation of a press card. Please also inform the press contact about your visit.

Are all floors accessible by lift?
Yes, except for the archive presentation. That space can only be reached by stairs.
