Avant-gardewalk

Join Muhka for a walk through Antwerp South and discover how the neighbourhood has grown around art, architecture and urban renewal since the 1980s. A guide takes you past iconic places, forgotten stories and plans for the future.

A monthly walk through Antwerp South

Antwerp South is alive, changing and constantly redrawing itself. That is true today, and it was no different in the past. During this avant-garde walk, you discover how the neighbourhood has evolved since the 1980s under the influence of museums, galleries, architecture and urban renewal.

Together with a museum guide, you walk past places that played an important role in the art history of the neighbourhood. You pass, among others, Wide White Space and Ruimte A, and encounter works of art in public space by Lili Dujourie and Sammy Baloji.

The walk connects the past, present and future of Muhka with the neighbourhood in which the museum is located. Along the way, you gain insight into the stories, places and plans that continue to shape Antwerp South.
