Experience Pauline’s World
10 Oct 2025 - 25 Jan 2026
At the exhibition by Pauline Curnier Jardin, there’s not only plenty to see — but also lots to do!
In the Salon and the Labo at M HKA, you can experiment, draw, craft, and invent stories — all in the colourful, magical atmosphere of Pauline’s world.
The Salon – playing with imagination
Let yourself be inspired by Pauline’s video work Grotta Profunda and get creative:
- Create your own hybrid creatures using the craft materials on the table, and bring them to life in a shadow play with the overhead projectors.
- What would you say to people 30,000 years in the future? Write or paint a message with water on special paper — your words will fade away as if by magic!
- Draw a negative of your hand on the pink “cave wall” using oil pastels (only together with a guide).
In the Salon, everything revolves around imagination, play, and transience — just like in Pauline’s art.
The Labo – stop motion with De Veerman
For secondary school students, there’s a special Labo.
With the help of De Veerman, you’ll create your own stop motion film, inspired by Pauline’s stories and images.
You’ll learn how movement, light, and form come together to tell a new story.
Let your creativity flow — and watch your ideas come to life!
Tip: Use the Choice Tree (Keuzeboom) to wander through the exhibition with your guide or family. Step by step, you’ll discover new artworks and creative challenges.
Come explore, draw, film, and dream in the Salon & Labo of Pauline Curnier Jardin!
