Art & Enterprise
The starting point of this tour is ‘entrepreneurship’. Entrepreneurship is seen wider than just the economic aspect. Being entrepreneurial is based on creativity and ingenuity. Being an ‘entrepreneur’ (literally ‘one who undertakes’) is pushing boundaries, creating something new, producing something lasting that contributes to the quality of life. Within the theme, three different focuses can be distinguished: content, economical and production/technical. Depending on the exhibitions and art works, we will focus more on one discipline than another.
Using active assignments, pupils are encouraged to pose questions such as: To what extend is the artist groundbreaking? What did the artist have to do, before the work was finished? What did the museum do to be able to exhibit it? Is the museum’s policy groundbreaking, content-wise? How much does it cost to create a work of art? How many people participate in an exhibition?
